Over the past five years, the practice has had the privilege of transforming ambitious visions into inspiring, tangible realities.
Reflecting upon five projects of differing scale and design style, it has been an exciting journey of growth, exploration and creativity:
01///Feature Projects – TIPTON INNOVATION CENTRE
Sector: Industral & Logistics
Contract Value: £5,000,000
Description: The creation of a new 30,000 sqft Innovation Centre. An international company required additional building capacity at their existing site in Tipton, to match the scale of its growing business operations. Surpassing conventional warehouse design, Unity Architects crafted a scheme that set the tone for a contemporary Innovation Centre, where the architectural face of the business communicates strength and industry leading standards.
02///Feature Projects – ZIG-ZAG HOUSE
Sector: Residential
Contract Value: £350,000
Description: A private residential project for a professional couple, with home office and quality of space as fundamental project drivers. The saw-tooth facade purposefully controls inwards and outwards views from the home office. A beautiful and rarely seen linear Geobrick from EH Smith, sourced from Holland, separates this building from the crowd. What was once a tired double-integrated garage frontage, is now an elegant, contemporary and slick dwelling, fully equipped to perform as a modern family home.
03///Feature Projects – CARROLL DRIVE
Sector: Residential
Contract Value: £150,000
Description: An inspiring micro-project, sensationally transforming an underutilised double-garage into a luxury leisure space, including gym, vestibule, compact sauna, shower and changing space. The L-shaped cantilevered roof introduces a dominant architectural language. A square aperture is positioned directly above the hot-tub for stargazing. Excellent demonstration of design value, taking something basic and making it special.
04///Feature Projects – YORK ROAD
Sector: Residential
Contract Value: £200,000
Description: York Road is a delightful project nestled within the Leamington Spa Conservation Area. A fundamental driver of the project was to create an inspiring architectural statement that would be lasting and memorable, forming a family legacy. One of the most powerful moves was the use of structural glazing, to provide the rear extension with an ‘infinite ceiling,’ in tandem with ensuring visual links to the private rear garden remained from the host dwelling.
05///Feature Projects – WESTFIELD FARM
Sector: Prime Residential
Contract Value: £1,000,000
Description: A beautiful ancillary outbuilding purposely crafted for the enjoyment of the homeowner client. The building surpasses its core leisure function of swimming pool and gym, by organising the surrounding context. This includes shaping pedestrian movement towards, around and through the building. The cantilevered roof design serves as a portal, leading you from the host dwelling, framing distant views and physically connecting you to the depths of the land ownership.
