Construction Update V3 - York Road, Leamington Spa
Winter conditions are starting to bite. The building has been wrapped awaiting glazing installation.
Experiencing the part-completed build in this way gives an appreciation of the volumes being captured. With exception of a single roof light, there is minimal daylight penetration and the building currently presents a solid object holding space within.
The sombre enclosure still feels generous with comfortable proportions. What is currently dark will soon turn light.
The structural glass roof will form a limitless ceiling, exceeding daylight conditions alone by skewing the perception of space. Simultaneously being confined and unconfined.
Standing within this piece of architecture is a powerful experience. When we speak of the value of design, this is it. Capturing space and time in a dynamic way. Something that brings joys.
From this moment onwards, the building will rapidly transition to a finished piece of construction. The potential is being realised and is tangible.
